THE WORKSHOPS
FOUR WORKSHOPS. TWO AFTERNOONS.
SATURDAY Oct 3 · 2–5pm
WORKSHOP #1 · SAT 2pm - 3:30pm
ORGINS OF SALSA
Many body movements in modern Salsa come from older Cuban dances: Son, Rumba, and Guaguancó. Hunter studied these dances in Cuba. This workshop teaches Cuban body motions for your joints, hips, ribs, shoulders, and torso, plus musicality and expression. Add Cuban flavor in your salsa!
WORKSHOP #2 · SAT 3:30pm - 5pm
MAKE THE BASICS BEAUTIFUL
Partner work for on1 dancers. Hunter takes the patterns you already know and teaches leads and follows to move with elegance, make each other look great, and keep the playful call and response between the turns. Your basics, made beautiful.
SUNDAY Oct 4 · 2–5pm
WORKSHOP #3 · SUN 2pm - 3:30pm
THE MAMBO CIRCLE
Partner work on2. Hunter teaches the Mambo Circle: partners move in tighter circles rather than strictly linear, for that tight, cool, connected on2 look. For strong on1 dancers crossing over, and instructors who want to dance and teach on2.
WORKSHOP #4 · SUN 3:30pm - 5pm
THE ON2 DEEP END
If you can lead or follow a double turn and a triple inside turn, this is your room. Longer patterns, quicker changes, and the clean on2 footwork that makes complexity hold together instead of falling apart. Hunter gets you dancing fast, not frantic.
